Home to five major theme parks, Gold Coast, is indeed the theme park capital of Australia. So, if you or your kids want to meet their favourite celebrities, cartoon characters, or superheroes, all they have to do is choose which family-friendly attraction to visit first. And no matter where you go, the thrills and world-class adventure rides will undoubtedly satisfy you.
But hold on, there's more!
There is also a transformative arena on the Gold Coast! It is called the Australian Outback Spectacular.
The Australian Outback Spectacular takes place in a transformative arena and features breathtaking shows such as Heartland, a story about two struggling Australian farmers, Reg and Marge. See how the main characters overcome the harsh and unforgiving outback. The show also includes real horses, acrobatic horse riders, and immersive technology, making it an unforgettable evening.
Did the words "immersive technology" catch your attention? Heartland by Australian Outback Spectacular is a visually stunning show that uses every available space in the arena. The audience is transported into the outback thanks to a sophisticated technical installation. The high-level and complex projection mapping system aids in the process and helps to showcase Australia's diverse landscape. The audience will see, hear, and feel everything from the dust to the rocky outcrops, rugged plains, luscious green fields, and all the elements of a thunderstorm.
The main attraction at the Australian Outback Spectacular is the show. But first, there will be some pre-show entertainment.
You and your family can have your photos taken at the green screen area as soon as you arrive. You can have a perfect image taken with one of the talented show dogs. In the pre-show entertainment area, you can even take a picture with one of the beautiful horses.
Then get some drinks! Beer, cocktails, and wine are available at Bazza's Bar. If you're bringing children, don't be worried. They can get soft drinks if they want to. You can also listen to live Aussie music while sipping your beverage and hanging out in that area before heading to the show area.
But keep an eye on the time. Evening shows begin at 7:30 PM, and the monthly Sunday matinée begins at 12:30 PM. You must arrive one hour and fifteen minutes before the start of the show. The doors to the venue and arena then open, and the pre-show entertainment begins simultaneously. The show lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes and includes a delicious three-course meal.
Yes, in addition to the Australian Outback Spectacular experience, you will be treated to a delectable three-course dinner with beverages served throughout the show.
The evening will begin with a rustic woodfire roasted Vegetable and Goat Feta Tart accompanied by wild rocket and homemade pineapple chutney. Then, for the main course, you can choose between hearty Australian beef or farm seasoned chicken. Both are perfectly cooked and served with a rich jus and lashings of plum sauce, as well as a generous serving of roast pumpkin, green beans, and potato.
Dessert is a delicate Chocolate Tart with a delicious honey salted caramel sauce and a pinch of outback chocolate dirt. Please keep in mind that meal components may vary depending on the season.
Take note, Bazza's Bar will be closed during the show. However, you will be able to get your drinks while watching the show. There are a variety of refreshing beverages available, including XXXX Gold, Hardys Wine, and soft drinks.
All of this will be served by a team of 40 stockmen and women. Take a look at how they serve 1000 meals in under 7 minutes!
Over 2.5 million people have been captivated by the Australian Outback Spectacular's high-quality productions since it opened its arena to the public on April 4, 2006. The Original Show – Australian Outback Spectacular was their first.
It included spectacular visual effects and action-packed performances by leading stunt riders and stockmen and women, as well as a massive array of delightful animals such as 42 horses and Australian favourites such as 10 Longhorn and 20 Santa Gertrudis cattle, three camels, 50 sheep, two dogs, and chickens!
The next show is Heroes of the Light Horse, directed by acclaimed film director Simon Wincer. He is best known for his Australian hit film, The Cup, and his 1987 film, The Lighthorsemen, which inspired the show. This was followed by Spirit of the Horse, directed by Simon Wincer again. Then there was the dazzling High Country Legends, which transported the audience to the snow-capped mountains. This show featured incredible animal stars as well as death-defying stunts performed by skilled trick riders.
Following that is the Salute to the Light Horse, commemorating the ANZACS Centenary, and the Return of High Country Legends, which returned to the snow-capped mountains to bring enchanted whispers and legendary yarns to life.
However, from November 23 to December 23, prepare to get into the holiday spirit. Before the Australian Outback Spectacular's Heartland, listen to live Christmas carols in Bazza's Bar. Prepare for a spectacular 'light up' Christmas Finale as their stockmen and women descend upon the arena in illuminated coats, transforming it into a sea of green and red!
