With the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games just around the corner there’s plenty of excitement building up on the Gold Coast, and in conjunction with all the competitive sporting action will be a ton of FREE entertainment set to take place with Festival 2018 Gold Coast. Aiming to extend the action out of the Metricon Stadium and to the famous beaches and venues of the Gold Coast, Festival 2018 Gold Coast is another great reason to be on the Gold Coast this April.
Festival 2018 Gold Coast will have several locations on the Gold Coast come alive with a long lineup of live music, theatre, circus, dance, street performances, food festivals, and more this coming April. Don’t miss international star Kate Miller-Heidke headline the Queensland Music Stage in Broadbeach alongside Gold Coast local Amy Shark, Lastlings, Ella Fence, Eliza and the Delusionals, and many more. More live music will take place in Surfers Paradise in the form of Yothu Yindi and the Treaty Project, Susheela Raman, M.anifest, The Cat Empire, and Hot Dub Time Machine amongst others. In NightQuarter - the Gold Coast’s famous weekend food market - catch performances from Force Majeure, Dancenorth, The Farm, Punchdrunk, Jeremy Goldstein and more, as well as a number of irresistible food markets for foodies and festival-goers.
As well as Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise, Currumbin will be hosting two exciting events for Festival 2018 Gold Coast. ‘Quiet By Nature’ will give festival-goers the chance to get out on Currumbin Estuary under the moonlight, offering a unique kayak ride with a special twist. Also in Currumbin catch a thrilling performance by ‘VOU’, a Fijian dance company from the Pacific Islands that fuse new and old styles, offering a dance performance unlike any you have seen before.
Other exciting performances and events not to be missed throughout Festival 2018 Gold Coast include the Restless Dance Theatre’s ‘Intimate Space’, the ‘Giant Sing Along’ in Surfers Paradise, circus and ballet show ‘The Rite of Spring’, visual arts exhibit ’Museum on the Moon’, old-school Hip Hop group 'Boombox Chicks’, famous street performers ‘The Squad’, and much, much more!
